Frequently Asked Questions About Cherry Bomb
What is Traverse City like? What’s there to do?
Traverse City is surrounded by the crystal blue waters of Lake Michigan, and is the Cherry Capital of the United States. If you like the outdoors, you’ll love it here because of the great opportunities to boat, hike, bike, camp, fish, and just take in the beautiful natural surroundings. Recently voted the The Most Beautiful Place In America, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a “must see” where you can climb the giant dunes and wander the miles of shore. More info here. Traverse City is also one of the top six golf destinations in the US according to Golf Magazine. Discover great restaurants and shopping and much, much more.
When will games be scheduled?
We are going to schedule games on Friday July 21 no earlier than 1:00 pm. All teams must play at least one game on Friday. It’s the only way we can accommodate everyone and provide you with a schedule that is both comfortable and safe. Games on Sunday will end by 6:00 pm at the latest. Please know that your Sunday schedule depends on your result in the playoffs. The more you win, the later you play. The exact game schedule for your team will be completed and posted here about three days prior to the event.
Are all the games in one place or do we have to drive from location to location?
Cherry Bomb has grown to necessitate two locations. The fields at the two campuses are only about 10 – 15 minutes apart. Every effort is made to make sure that your schedule is such to not require back-and-forth.
How many teams will be at the Cherry Bomb tournament?
It’s hard to answer until everybody is registered, but we expect more than 125 teams at the 2017 event, based on the feedback and interest we’ve received.
What kind of amenities are there at the Cherry Bomb?
The Cherry Bomb tournament features great food and beverages, full-line lacrosse retail shops, and official Cherry Bomb merchandise. There’s no need to lug coolers and food around, or stock up on back-up gear. It’ll all be here.
Can we bring a grill and barbeque on the grounds?
